Fresh Ayr Folk Fest 2025 has come to a close, and what a weekend it was. From start to finish, Ayr was filled with the sound of world-class folk and roots music alongside the unmistakable warmth of community.

The festival hosted a stunning variety of artists. Melody Pool travelled all the way from Australia to share her soulful songs, Fidra brought thoughtful Scottish storytelling, and Justine Beverley captivated with her heartfelt set on Sunday afternoon. Blazin’ Fiddles delivered their trademark fire and precision, An Dannsa Dub fused trad and beats into a late-night energy that had the hall shaking, and the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra joined by Joy Dunlop closed the festival in spectacular style—an unforgettable finale that summed up the spirit of the whole weekend.

Equally special were the sessions that took place across our own venues and in Mulligans Bar, where musicians and audiences mixed, shared tunes, and reminded us why folk music is such a vital, living tradition. Those moments of spontaneity and connection are at the heart of what Fresh Ayr Folk Fest is all about.

The feedback from artists and audiences alike has been inspiring, and it’s clear that this young festival has carved out something unique in Ayrshire’s cultural calendar. We are so grateful to everyone who played, sang, danced, volunteered, or simply came along to listen and support live music.
